What is Entrepreneurship?

Innovative culture needs entrepreneurs - Mike A.
The nature of our society and the current global trend nurtures creativity, innovation, imagination, boldness and critical thinking – all recipes for entrepreneurship.  To be an entrepreneur one has to have the ability to understand the current patterns, foresee future trends and be able to adapt to growth and change to reach their goal.

According to Stevenson and Gumpert, excellent managers who have no plans for the future, are merely administrators who may inadvertently hurt the overall success of the organization.  They use examples such as Apple Computer and Dominoe’s Pizza to prove managers/administrators who posses entrepreneurial skills can benefit the organizational corporate success.

A risk-taker, in Cantillon’s definition of entrepreneur will engage in market exchanges and can operate in any class level or in any industry. The dynamic process of creating incremental wealth therefore requires a risk-taking behavior, secured by the knowledge of how to tap into necessary skills and resources.

The economic health of a free market system is driven by constant innovation, new approaches and creativity which defines the realm of an entrepreneur.
